Rights at Work for Students - event at University. Attempts
to bring in a young members section from a union - ongoing.
Foundation Hospital Status - Consulation period ended. Unfortunately
Foundation Status is going ahead.
Alderman Blaxill/TLA Closure/merger - Academy Status ?
NUT Sponsored Meeting - Against Academies.Thursday 273.09.07
6pm for 6.30pm st Alderman Blaxill School, Colchester.
Trade Union/Labour Movement Resouce Centre - Proposal from
Unison NEMHT branch to have an office in Colchester as a resource
centre and union/branch meeting place. Project will be ongoing.
Secretary's Report
Dealt with correspondence etc.
The meeting agreed - that this Trades Union Council meets
additionally in August.
Finance
All outstanding affiliation - fees have now been received.
The meeting agreed the following payments
ALISC - £20 affiliation
Cuba Solidarity - Campaign £30 affilation
Sixth form college - £50 TUC Award for Special Achievement
Anti Academies Alliance - £40 affiliation
Alternative Oyster Feast
Thank you to all branches - that have donated to the fund!
We will have Steve Hart - Unite Union Regional Secretary as speaker
for the event.
