Many thanks to the delegates who attended our meeting
on 11.12.08.
There was no speaker booked for the meeting. The secretary would welcome
suggestions for speakers for future meeting
Campaigning - Much discussion took place on the activities
of the BNP in the area. Bob reported on the anti-BNP meeting he had
attended in Witham.
Bob & Mike spoke of their experiences in collecting signatures
for the Equality & Diversity statement in the town centre. They
will look to resume this activity in the New Year.
The Secretary reported that 25 organisations had been sent the E &
D statement. He had received 8 back so far. He hoped that branches
would be supportive and help signpost us towards other organisations
who we could get to be signatories.
With the Euro elections & County Council election s in 2009 ,
there remained work to be done.
The meeting discussed the current consultation on secondary education
in South Colchester.
