Colchester TUC - April 2009 Meeting

Pleased to report that we now have Raph Pigott as a delegate from GMB and 2 new delegates from the Unite T & G branch at Delphi - Sudbury.

For the April Meeting we had a speaker - David Rce from Amesty International - Braintree branch - who spoke on the work of Amesty International and its importance to the Trade Union movement. It was an interesting talk and we had a discussion on Amnesty at the end of the talk.

Campaigning - Anti Fascist & Anti Racist Campaigning - this is ongoing.
Visteon - Basildon. This was discussed by the meeting.
ECC Anti - Outsourcing campaign. Bob Lambert & Chris Burrow had supported this capmaign by getting signatures for the petition.
Other campaigns - Royal Mail Privatisation & Colchester South Secondary Schools were discussed

Raph Pigott has agreed to become Assistant Secretary.This was agreed by the meeting

The next Meeting will be Thursday May 14th 2009 at 8pm at the Odd One Out.
Bob Lambert advised he had speakers from the Socialist Party attending the meeting.
The Secretary advised he would be away on the day of the meeting and would prepare for the meeting accordingly.
