Bob Lambert (Chair) welcomed delegates to the AGM.

These were agreed by the meeting as a true record.


Matters Arising

None.


Chair's Report
Bob Lambert spoke on a successful year for the Council, taking steps to be more prominent in the community. The Banner was in use and the website was up and running.


Secretary's Report

Chris Burrow referred to his written report. A lot of effort had gone into the organisation of Trade Council in the past year and a lot remains to be done. John McDonnell meeting on 5th was well supported by Trades Council, there were things that could be learnt for the future.


Treasurer's Report

Peter Norfolk referred to his written report. discussion followed on the donation to the Sixth Form College.

 

Alternative Oyster Feast.
Another successful event,run in collaboration with the local labour party. The generous donations of unions were acknowledged.

Nomination - Essex Association of Trades Union Councils
Secretary - Chris Burrow - Proposed by Mary Russell, Seconded by Simon Watson. Chris Burrow advised that he would defer a decision on whether to accept the nomination


Resolutions for consideration at the AGM of Association of Trades Union Councils
Discussion followed on the topics for a resolution. Peter Norfolk would put together resolutions on Global Links with Trades Unions and the John McDonnell Campaign.
Additionally it was suggested that the secretary write to our TUCJCC representative and to suggest that John McDonnell be invited to speak at the Trade Council Conference. It was noted that this had already arranged.

Resolution
"That the end of the Financial Year of the Council be December 31st"
The treasurer had only 8 days from the end of the financial year to prepare the accounts this year.
The meeting agreed to this change.


The Meeting closed at 9.21pm and was followed by an abridged general meeting of the Council.
