Colchester TUC - November Meeting

Speaker - Explo Nani Kofi - African Liberation Support Campaign

This months speaker is editor of Kilombo Magazine which covers African issues.
This was his second visit to Colchester TUC. He spoke this time about class movements in Latin America and the situation currently in Africa for such organisations.
He commented on the lack of mainstream media coverage on international class movements and the need to build international solidarity with Africa.
As part of his talk Kofi gave some of the background to his involvements in class movements in his home country Ghana and his arrest by the government in 1982 and his escape a year later.
As editor of “Kilombo” he welcomed comment on the articles that were published in the magazine.
Following his talk there was time for questions on a range of topics related to Africa.
Kofi was thanked for taking the time to come to Colchester TUC and for his informative talk.
