Alternative Oyster
Feast
As a protest against this waste of taxpayer's money on an extravagant
the official Grand Civic Oyster Feast, which is hosts by the Mayor
of Colchester in the Town Hall and attended by civic dignitaries from
around the nation.All at the expense of Colchester Council taxpayers.
Colchester Trade Union Council in association with Colchester Labour
party annually holds The Alternative Oyster Feast. Where 125 pensioners
are invited on the same day as the Official Oyster feast takes place
in the town hall, to enjoy a feast of their own, not of oysters but
of fish and chips. Not in the Town Hall, but in the Area Club in Circular
Road East. The event is free of charge to our honoured guests, including
transport, drink, meal and entertainment all entirely funded by generosity
of the local trade unions and local labour Party.
